“Collaborating with Yerrabingin allowed us to develop a better understanding of how we could share and celebrate First Nations narratives at CommBank. The Yerrabingin team are extremely knowledgeable, passionate and a joy to work with. We are inspired to continue to create projects that spark conversation, and encourage an openness to learning about and respecting Country. We are immensely proud of the outcome.” - Henrietta Chui, Project Manager

About
Yerrabingin collaborated with local Aboriginal artist Leona McGrath, Aboriginal Graphic Designer Nerissa Jones and Comm Bank Australia staff and First Nations Advisory Committee to create an authentic design narrative and experience for the community, staff and visitors within Comm Bank Australia. The co-design aimed at inspiring impactful conversations with Comm Bank and looked at their current brand, secondary colour palette and incorporating First Nations narratives and stories to connect at a local level with communities across Australia.
The creative design visually expresses CBA’s refreshed rebrand and values. “The design conveys three central themes: Community, Connections and Wellbeing, and pairs some of the CBA new brand colours with traditional Aboriginal designs to create an artwork and narrative that will conjure connectedness and pride with our customers, communities and our people.” Said CBA Group Executive Human Resources, Sian Lewis.
This design will eventually be weaved through the fabric of the bank including branches, digital assets and uniforms.
Our role
With outcomes from our facilitated Design Jam, this artwork was co-created by artist Leona McGrath, graphic designer Nerissa Jones, CBA’s Indigenous and non-Indigenous employees, and members of the community.
